Objective We observed the effects of Particulate Matter 2.5(PM2.5)on Heart Rate Variability(HRV).Methods We chose 265 healthy young population
124 males
and 141 females
with mean age of 38.57±5.72 years old. The data of the climate was obtained for Chinese meteorological administration and Beijing municipal environmental monitoring center. The study was done during October to March
which was covered by relatively more heavy pollution days. The Air Quality Index(AQI) was used as the stratification criteria
AQI<50 means normal
and AQI>200 means heavy pollution days. We compared the data of HRV on days with AQI<50 and AQI>200. The data of HRV included PNN50
SD
SDNN
SDANN
RMSS. Results In male subjects with different age
the data of HRV was in normal range
and compared with AQI<50
in days when AQI>200
there was no significant difference between those AQI<50 and AQI>200. In female subjects with different age
the data of HRV was also in normal range
and there was no significant difference between those AQI<50 and AQI>200. Conclusions Heavy pollution air has no significant effect on HRV of healthy young population.
