The prevalence of metabolic syndrome in iron and steel workers and its related multi-factor analysis
risk factors and intervention measures of metabolic syndrome(MS) in iron and steel workers. Methods From January 2018 to December 2019
physical examination data of on-the-job employees who underwent physical examination in the physical examination center of our hospital were continuously collected
including basic data
fasting blood glucose
total cholesterol
triglyceride
high-density lipoprotein cholesterol
low-density lipoprotein cholesterol
uric acid and other metabolic indicators. Statistical analysis was conducted by Anova
Rank sum test
Chi-Square analysis and Binary logistic regression. Results The prevalence of MS was higher in males than in females. The prevalence increased with age
with the highest prevalence at 50-59 years old. The prevalence of MS in males of all ages increased with age
which was statistically significant(p<0.01). The female group was only compared between the group aged 50-59 and the group aged 40-49
which was statistically significant. According to BMI
the patients were divided into normal weight group
super-recombinant group and obese group. Pairwise comparison between the two groups showed that the prevalence of MS increased significantly with age at all ages(p<0.01). Multivariate analysis showed that HDL-c and overweight were protective factors for MS
and age
FBG
TG
systolic blood pressure
diastolic blood pressure
UA and obesity were risk factors for MS. Conclusions The incidence of and people over 50 years old are at high risk. Men are more susceptible to MS.The risk factors and people over 50 years old are at high risk. Men are more susceptible to MS. The risk factors of MS are age
