Change and clinical significance of P wave and QT interval dispersion in patients with bipolar disorder
Objective To investigate the changes and clinical significance of P wave dispersion and QT dispersion in patients with bipolar disorder(BD). Methods A total of 129 patients who were hospitalized in the psychiatric department of our hospital and met the diagnosis of bipolar disorder from October 2020 to October 2021were selected as the BD group. Another 121 healthy people with physical examination in our hospital during the same period were selected as the control group. Routine 12-lead synchronous electrocardiogram was performed in the two groups
and the P wave dispersion and heart rate-corrected QT interval(QTc) dispersion were measured and compared between the two groups. Results The minimum time of P wave and the minimum time of QTc in the BD group were shorter than those of the control group
and the maximum time of the P wave
the dispersion of P wave and the dispersion of QTc were higher than those of the control group(all p<0.01). There was no statistical difference in the maximum time of QTc between the two groups(p>0.05). Conclusions Both P wave dispersion and QT interval dispersion are increased in BD patients. The measurement of P wave dispersion and QT interval dispersion has important clinical significance for the evaluation of cardiovascular disease in BD patients.
